Our People

Andrew Ogawa

Andy Ogawa is the Founder and President of the Six Tree Foundation. Born in Tokyo, Japan, to a Japanese father and an American mother who met at the University of Washington, Andy grew up in a multicultural household and attended Nishimachi International School and the American School in Japan. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with dual degrees in Economics and East Asian Studies. During his time there, he was involved with AIESEC, a global student-led organization that provides practical business experience through international internships, and he completed an internship in Göttingen, Germany. He then decided to learn German while attending Thunderbird School of Global Management for his MBA. After graduating, Andy joined Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany, and undertook various global assignments at Mitsubishi Motors Company and Mitsubishi Fuso in Tokyo and Kawasaki, Japan, as well as Chrysler Motors in Auburn Hills, Michigan. After 10 years with Daimler, inspired by his entrepreneurial father's success, he co-founded Quest Venture Partners with his brother in 2008 to manage their family's investments in Silicon Valley startups. Successful outcomes from the first fund led to team expansion and additional venture capital funds involving third-party LPs.

Andy enjoys meeting founders who want to change the world, traveling to countries he hasn't yet visited, and supporting schools he attended or is affiliated with. He also volunteers with non-profits such as USJC, SVJP, PICHTR, Purple Mai’a, and RiseHi to develop the next generation of leaders with a global mindset.
